Never exchanged for the real but exchanged for itself | A solo exhibition by Clara Cortes (Spain)

Clara Cortes is a Barcelona borned and based artist although her work is related to the space that surrounds her in the way that she has developed and exhibited projects in many different places as Berlin, Taiwan, Japan, Iceland, Istanbul and now Malaysia.

She defines her work as a synthetic resurrection of the models and a compilation of images and sounds depicting environs mutated into abstraction as a memory of something existent. It employs aesthetic phantasm to convey contexts of physical environment that stretch reality. In this way, it parallels the second phase of imagery named by Jean Baudrillard in Simulacra and Simulation (It masks and denatures a profound reality) whence the name of her noise project. It cultivates a provocation of an observer’s inclination to grasp for objectivity, identification, classification or empirical truth in a work of art.

About the exhibition: "Never exchanged for the real but exchanged for itself" is the result of an abstract documentation of Kuantan's surroundings and continues the concept of the latest project Clara has developed called "cognitive failure", a reflexion of perceptions and realities.

Decodification, analysis and transformation creating a nonsensical perceptible abstract forms. The images and sounds, simulacrum of the reality, came from a massive compilation based on three basic items: sky, earth and water, presented as visual definition who do not inform in a complete way about the represented item. Classic models integrated in every kind of target with personal codes, transformed and connected creating a visual homogeneity.

Sebuah tayangan khas filem HARUA​N: THE SNAKEHEAD akan berlangsung di Kafe Skrin, Ukay Boulevard (dekat dengan FINAS, sebuah kafe bercirikan sinema buat pencinta filem) pada 19 April 2015 (Ahad), jam 11 pagi dan 1 tengahari. Sinopsis: This film tells the tale
of ikan, a 10-year old boy who lives with his older sister Salomah, and their stepfather Deris. Ikan adores his sister Salomah. Ikan also loves all fish, especially his pet snakehead Haruan. Haruan - or Channa striatus - is a very special fish. Some might even say that this creature is magical. It can breathe through its skin (as long as it is moist) and survive for days on land, or longer if burrowed in mud, whilst waiting for water to become available again. Its flesh is thought to contain many nutrients which can promote wound healing and cure illnesses. However, it has no natural predator, and has been observed to devour its own young when food is scarce - As suggested by the popular Malay idiom:

Bagai Haruan makan anak (like the Snakehead fish eating its young)

Salomah was 13 when Deris married her mother. Salomah’s mother died soon after at childbirth, leaving her in Deris’s care.But, like Haruan, Salomah is a survivor. Like Haruan, hungry Deris has no natural predator. Unlike Haruan however, angry Deris is not a healer. Ikan and Haruan know that they need to protect the young haruans, and save their beloved Salomah. Deris must be stopped, at whatever cost...

[ULASAN FILEM] Fast & Furious 7

Melalui Fast & Furious 7, pengarah James Wan buat graviti tu tak wujud (baca: kereta boleh terbang dari satu menara ke dua menara yang lain). Otak memang kena letak kat luar panggung. Banyak sungguh dialog yang cheesy. One more, boleh tahu scriptwriter tu malas tak malas bila dah masuk plot hacker.

FF7 mungkin takkan habis kat nombor 7, mungkin akan ada 8, 9, selagi Universal Studios boleh buat duit walaupun dikhabarkan sebagai pembayaran tunggakan kereta yang terakhir namun FF7 juga ialah tribute yang baik buat mendiang Paul Walker, terutama pada scene terakhirnya dengan Vin Diesel yang paling terkesan kerana dia dan Paul merupakan dua pelakon yang paling kerap muncul dalam francais ini iaitu enam daripada keseluruhan tujuh filem.

Secara ringkas, James Wan telah merampas takhta Michael Bay sebagai master of mayhem.

Furious 7 (tajuk filem di US) akan mula ditayangkan serentak di pawagam esok.

Plot: Furious 7 menyaksikan abang Owen Shaw, Ian Shaw (lakonan Jason Statham) bangkit menentang Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) dan kumpulannya setelah mereka menjatuhkan adiknya yang mahu membalas dendam. Walaubagaimanapun, Ian Shaw menggunakan banyak taktik dan permainan demi melunaskan dendamnya. Hanya Dominic Toretto dan kumpulannya sahaja mengetahui apakah yang bakal terjadi.
